Speaker 1:

Welcome to Rock's Talks, the podcast that helps network marketers grow their business on social media. I'm Roxanne Wilson, social media network marketing coach, with nearly a decade of experience in the space, as well as television and radio experience, and a passion to really help you and empower you to be the best network marketer you can be, which means knowing yourself and knowing your brand.

Speaker 2:

And I'm Taryn Soa, your social media sidekick. I run all things behind the scenes at Rock's Talks, While being the right hand woman to Roxanne, I also strategize and manage our full social media plan. So I would love to share with you the tips, the happenings, all the things going on in the social media world.

Speaker 1:

Each week, we're here to give you the latest and greatest direct selling, social selling, marketing, whatever you like to call it. The end game is for you to really understand your business, understand yourself and your brand and to rock it on social media, tearing up my heart. When I'm with you, when we are apart, I feel it. You did something you said you weren't going to do. Confess.

Speaker 2:

I did. I drove last week and I listened to InSync with the kids in the car and we had an absolute blast and I've honestly been listening to them like every day since.

Speaker 1:

That wasn't even what I was talking about, but I'm so. So what I'm hearing you say is you're now a believer again.

Speaker 2:

I'm still on the edge if I would go to the reunion. I don't know, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Okay, let me remind you. You believe in taking your kids everywhere. What I'm hearing is your kids would love to go to the concert.

Speaker 2:

What I am feeling is that would be horrible. If I'm going, I'm going with my girlfriends, with cocktails, not kids.

Speaker 1:

You know that's true, you know Tennessee girl, I saw. I have actually seen InSync in concerts, full InSync, three times and one of the times was in Knoxville, tennessee. So just so you know, I've seen them. Yes, I traveled to see them, man, yes, yes.

Speaker 2:

So if the reunion's in Nashville, you're coming.

Speaker 1:

Maybe. I mean, I'm going to see them a few times. I've already told Scott, like, you understand, like, once it happened, it's happening. I am not going to see them just once. I need to go to several you Swifties, you baby queens or baby beehives. You got your like this is mine, this is mine. Um, which, by the way, before we go any further, there was something else that you can confess. Before you confess that we have to, like, just call out and give props to Taylor Swift, beyonce and Barbie. I think Taylor was Barbie 4.7 billion I think that's right for her concert. Um, beyonce is at 2.7 billion for her concert and Barbie is 1 billion tours, I should say for them and bought. Barbie is 1 billion. Like that, what women have done over the last year to drive the GDP and the economy. You're welcome. Now, you're part of it. Might not be a billion, but you still did some part of it. So you're, yeah, you can say you're welcome to anyone who's like, look at the. We've all done, we've been part of it. I think it's great.

Speaker 2:

We're all here. We're helping the economy.

Speaker 1:

We are Be proud, we are Put yourself on the back guys.

Speaker 2:

Girls, girls.

Speaker 1:

Uh, you had one more confession.

Speaker 2:

You're going to make me say this on record. I am 100% yes. Last Friday I bought a Stanley water bottle.

Speaker 1:

You're a Stanley.

Speaker 2:

I wasn't going to.

Speaker 1:

Why weren't you going to?

Speaker 2:

Well, because I already have a water bottle and so I'm like I'm not going to spend $45 on a water bottle, like my husband will kill me and when it arrives he will. But then this may segue into our episode today. I keep seeing it on stories and everywhere and people are using it and looking like they're having the best time of their lives and it looks so easy to drink. And I'm like you know, I'm moving to Nashville. How cool would I look like with a Stanley walking downtown? My country boots, cowboy boots, and I cave. This is literally the conversation in my mind.

Speaker 1:

If we, what color did you get? We all need to know a tan, oh nice. So you know, I have the kind of Rose Goldie one. My stepdaughter got it for me and I love it because I'm like, oh, the standings are so cute, everyone has them at the gym, I want one. I don't even think I noticed them on social media as much until after, believe it or not, but it's subliminal, right. And I didn't get mine till June, which was late on the train. Now here you are in September, late on the train. But here's the thing. Okay, you will love it. Now that I know you have a Stanley, there's some Stanley accessories because you can access, rise your standing. Mine has a fanny pack and then other really good things about Stanley.

Speaker 2:

I saw one woman. She got this like carrier for her so she could like wear like a cross body. I was like I need that.

Speaker 1:

I want that because sometimes I need all those things. But you know what? This is going places Everyone, don't you worry. There is a. I saw it yesterday on the gram and I showed it to Scott and I was like this little ridiculous but maybe, and he just looked at me like really, but he thinks the Stanley thing is just funny. There is a Stanley. Oh, for the love of Peter, paul and Mary, please tell me. I saved it there's. I cannot find it. There is a Stanley container that sits on your. Oh, I know I sent it to my daughter. I know what it is because I cannot describe it as well as it needs to be described for you all to just really bask in the beauty of it. Okay, you ready, here it is. Oh, that's cool.

Speaker 2:

So you can help you guys. She's showing me it goes over the top and you can have snacks. It holds your snacks.

Speaker 1:

It's like a snack tray and you put on there and then you can sit and drink a Stanley and eat your olives and your popcorn, and I put gummy bears in there. Come on now. Come on now, no other water bottle has that? No, I saw last night I kind of laughed at the water bottle. Has that?

Speaker 2:

Oh gosh. Okay, that's my list.

Speaker 1:

Stanley. If you look back at the history of Stanley or the history of, honestly, right now, the history, you can look back on the summer. You call it the summer of Stanley, the summer of Swifties, the summer of the Beehive, the summer of Barbie, and when you look at all those things whenever there was a concert or when the movie came out, or when there's a new thing with Stanley, it's all over our stories, it's everywhere. And if y'all don't think that Instagram is helping drive this, now I get it that people bought their Swiftie tickets and their Beehive tickets a while ago. However, it's the FOMO and the what do we wear to the concert? All those things are happening. People are popping up in their stories. I'll go one further. You know that in October, you can go and see the Taylor Swift Errors tour in the movie theater. I'm going, I'm going to. Scott is now all about. I'm like you're a little late, darrell, and he's like I like who's somewhere. I'm like get on board. But here's the thing all of that is popular because of Instagram. So that concert movie is going to not only attract people who went to go see her in concert, but other people who didn't even like. Maybe they were okay with the hype. They didn't like they didn't go to the concert, but they had to watch the concert happen across America For the last few months.

Speaker 1:

There's stories, so y'all. And then Stanley's stories, stanley, stanley, stanley, I need a Stanley, I need a Stanley. This is why we bring this up, because you have like, where are we going? But this is. These are just great examples of what stories can do. But here's what I'm noticing and we're noticing is that y'all sleeping on your stories, raise your hand if you're sleeping, sleeping on the stories, I should be pretty sleepy.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, people are sleeping on their stories and y'all I know they they didn't. They weren't as sexy as reels when reels came out a couple years ago. And you're probably and and honestly, instagram started started taking away the weight of stories and the algorithm, but they brought it back over the last year and if you were not working your stories it need to start. I can say about my wedding, like the stories, I went to town and I thought maybe I'm doing too much. Do you know that my overall reach went up dramatically because and then, granted, it was a wedding I get, it was like good content, but also like it just sort of matte, consistently and dramatically. And I didn't even realize that I posted as much as I had until I made highlights. And you know, highlights can only put 99 and I had to make three highlights worth. I'm like, oh so I did 300 stories. Don't know how that happened, but it works. So I I encourage y'all do that. So let's give you some like tips and tricks of the trade on what to put in your stories.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I love this because spoiler alert, spoiler alert alert you can sell in your stories.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you can. You, yes, you can.

Speaker 2:

It's just not all the time.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I love that. Yes, 100%, and it's a lot of what we do like right now with Rocks Talks, right, you'll see that Rocks Talks will have stories that are about giving you information or giving you hey, you can buy this, this is out there, and then it's just it's my life, it's a mixture, the same thing. So we know that tearing up my heart is moving to Nashville, right, we all know that. We told us last week. We know that I think. So why, where am I going with that? You're like, okay, and what's your point, roxanne? My point is that when you think about what to put in your stories, it's easy for you to go like, oh, I want to sell this product first. But let's start with what's going on in your life and, believe it or not, we all have something going on in our life right now that people will be interested in, the one they want to incorporate in. So we're just going to go over some content. I'm using using examples here and because you were moving, so Taryn should be showing her entire moving process. Whatever she feels comfortable with, it's great for her stories. The we're moving oh my gosh, we're moving. In two weeks. We're not only removing, we're moving, like yesterday.

Speaker 1:

Okay, she could show. She could take a video on her phone and time lapse it of like maybe her office, for example this is her office is already empty, you all can see, but let's pretend she did this. She put up a, set up her phone and then actually show the packing process, time lapse it, and then that would be great content. She can pop in her stories and yes, you know this is a real as well too. She can ask for suggestions leaning into the things that Instagram has in there.

Speaker 1:

Right, we know that there's polls, there's quizzes, there's questions. She can ask for suggestions for great moving company, for good moving, like packaging boxes, because, believe it or not, it's a lot, unless you've moved. In last year, things have changed. So like she can ask for straight up advice on that, advice on best places to give away things or should I give it away, or should I use offer up, or should I use postmark? If she's selling stuff, what's the fastest way to sell stuff? That's another great thing she can do. So not only she didn't have to wait to like the moving now we move but like just the packing, and all that because people are interested in that.

Speaker 2:

And I have. I posted some of this already and let me tell you the result is I'm having conversations. I'm having conversations. My clients are popping in my DMs oh my gosh, how cool and then my family like there's a mix of conversations going on, people that I don't really know.

Speaker 1:

You just hit the nail on the head conversation. But conversations are starting. We all remember the conversations is where the things, things transpire and the sales happen. So we know you might not remember, but about a year and some change ago, ish, you started your podcasting company.

Speaker 2:

Yes, yeah, it's like I think my anniversary is like about now.

Speaker 1:

Happy anniversary. Okay, thanks. So I know that in that last year there's some people who were like, oh my gosh, I know I want to start a podcast but I'm not ready yet, but I want to and I want to use Teran. Or maybe they even met with Teran and said, yep, okay, I'm not ready for her, but I need to be in the future by watching her stories where she's talking about moving. She hasn't even talked about her podcasting company Agent we call it agency, we don't like that word boutique, her podcasting boutique. And and immediately from that they're like oh my gosh, that's right, I'm ready now to my podcast, even what she's not even mentioning what she, her service, but because they're seeing her in their stories it reminds them of, of her expertise. I promise you, I guarantee it.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and now I'm even going to take from a realm of like okay, here's what I would do if I was selling a product. So if I was selling leggings, I'd be wearing these leggings while I'm packing, moving around and talking about like, oh my gosh, like the features I could bend over and it didn't like crumple over my belly 100%.

Speaker 2:

Or I could take from the action of, like high date hydrate and detox from Hue and Grace, like I'm drinking this, like as I'm packing and you know I'm breathing in a little bit more because we just redid our basement, so construction dust and I'm drinking this hydrate detox to help me flush out the toxins as I'm going through this process. And it's very natural to add in how I'm using these products that I sell.

Speaker 1:

Brilliant. If she had cleaning products. She'd show like I'm cleaning the final cleaning this way, or I'm making sure I'm. Yeah, all of that. Or maybe she's doing laundry. I guess you don't really do laundry before, you do it after. But if she was and you sell laundry detergent, she's going to demonstrate using the laundry detergent for it, so we can see your product in the wild. Really is what it is. Detail happening.

Speaker 2:

And I'm even trying to think of one that's maybe not directly related. So, like skincare product, I can still then create content where I'm washing my face at the end of the night and it's like here I'm just showing all aspects of my day and it's not even really directly related with moving, but I remember to wash my face after a busy day.

Speaker 1:

Right and celebrating that like I'm exhausted but I'm going to remember to wash my face. I think also, like, if you have skincare, maybe even talking about, okay, I know I'm going to be traveling, let's pretend she's driving there, right, she's like I am bringing or flying minimal things I can bring. These are the two products I cannot live without as I'm traveling. I know I need these two. For this reason, like that's a great way to bring it in, I'm not leaving home without my sunscreen or my hydrating serum or whatever it might be. I know I need those regardless.

Speaker 2:

My clarifying mist. I'm obsessed with my clarifying mist right now. What company it's actually not.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, no, but what is it? Yeah, because you can't talk about okay, oh.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean I guess I can. It's primarily pure, pure. Is that another one? You call on the gram? Jenna Kutcher was talking about it and she used to have like so I have a lot of freckles and like kind of like sun damage, and so so does she. So I was like I want to know what her beauty care routine is, and she shared it on her blog and I bought it this way.

Speaker 1:

See, you can only know that Taryn loves her some beauty products, so she it'll switch in a few months.

Speaker 2:

No, I think I found the one. This is the one.

Speaker 1:

You're going to like close it off. As they say on the violin, you're going to be closed. I'm impressed.

Speaker 2:

I might need a little bit more anti-aging as I age. I don't know, don't you guys, don't you dare dump in my DMs? I don't need anything, I'm good.

Speaker 1:

Another thing you want to do in your stories is have fun. You might notice you're watching we have little airtight in our hair. Oh, my goodness, like we're kind of like an homage to Minnie, oh, lucy, probably more like a Lucy, I love Lucy. You know who I love Lucy. I was thinking that like oh yeah, rosie, the Riveter Rosie the Riveter, yes her. I like it. Yeah, totally. I do that the same time like maybe do this again.

Speaker 2:

No, I'm not sure. I have no guns compared to your guns. I have a huge bruise because I fell off the horse taxi, but when?

Speaker 1:

you took last week when you left us. You're like I'm going to get the horse taxi.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I left you guys and I fell out of it. They're steep, they're really high up off the ground.

Speaker 1:

Better you than the kids.

Speaker 2:

Well, I kind of that's why I did fall, because, like, davey was behind me and I was like trying to stop him and then Genard was going forward, so I was like the middleman, so I ate it, yikes. In front of a lot of people I tend to do that. I tend to fall in public quite a bit.

Speaker 1:

It's better, because then someone will pick you up Exactly.

Speaker 2:

I'm always here for helping you.

Speaker 1:

Always here. That would be good Instagram content. Good story you falling. Good story. Good, big, but have fun. So, like, you can use different filters, different things. What's interesting is not only is it so that you're not so dang serious unless you are dang serious and keep the serious, but if you're not but then also it catches people's eyes. Why is she wearing that in her head, like why, what's going on there? What's that animation? So you can catch people's eyes by just using some of the filters or adding different gifts to or gifs, however you like to say that to your Instagram story.

Speaker 2:

Yes, those are fun.

Speaker 1:

Another thing that I love putting on there is showing aspects of yourself. Without you. It doesn't have to be you. I love social media. I also love that's an interesting word to say I love it. I love the beauty of social media. I don't love the underbelly, but you know. Just like I'll eat chicken but I don't like to see skin on the chicken when I was a little bit, that's gross, but what I was really going is I love reality TV. I do, I'm a product of it. I was on it. I love some reality TV. I will post a good example. I posted I watched the love is blind after the alter, which is always bad and I know it's bad, but I like the scenes. I watched them and it was boring. Bunch of conversations Now in my DMs, people saying oh my gosh, I didn't know it was on.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to like I didn't know it was on, I'm running to Netflix right now to watch it, or oh, it's on right now. Or this is what I thought about it. Just because I posted that I watched and I gave my opinion about it and I didn't talk, I just typed I was on there. I think I was on a plane when I was doing it, so it's. You can share your insight or your input or your opinions about things that have nothing to do. I don't sell reality TV, just so y'all know I think you do that, but it what it does is it does a couple things, start the conversation going Someone who I've done that about love Island as well to you I'm like don't judge me, I love me some love Island and it starts conversations.

Speaker 1:

But then also what happens is some might think, oh my gosh, she and I both watch love Island, or love is blind. I'm totally like connected to her, or she's quackadoo, she loves that show. But whatever, I remember her because she's like the one she works both ways.

Speaker 2:

Building connections and building thinking this of this from a business perspective, it's your long game marketing. Yeah, these, that kind of post isn't probably going to result in a sale tomorrow.

Speaker 1:

No.

Speaker 2:

But the next time you maybe launch a sale or talk about something, that person has that connection with you. They're going to listen to what you're saying or posting and then they buy.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and don't get it twisted either. The algorithm knows when I'm posting something or sharing something from love is blinds account and Instagram knows, which means it's probably showing it to people Not probably, but showing it to people who wouldn't typically see my story because I'm sharing a love is blind post or a. So remember as well something that's trending, exactly, which actually leads to the next point is don't hesitate to share if you're like. Going through your newsfeed and you see something that you like. It might be a quote that you loved. It could be an appointment made. It could be a funny reel. I posted one about the challenges I don't know if you saw it, but it was challenge going on around, where there's a woman standing there and this man has his hand on her head Right Ain't no way know how, and sorry y'all and then so his hand, they're holding hands just at her head, basically, and she he takes her down to the floor head first, like that's the and gently, it doesn't drop her.

Speaker 1:

It's like a trust fall, but forward with one hand. And your guy, I would. I love me some Scott. I love that man. I would not. We're not doing that. And I saw like the challenge is going around and there was a real word. The guy dropped her, got to the end of them, boom, there was a pillow. But so does it matter? Um, so I shared that real Don't hesitate when you see a funny reel or a funny whatever it might be. You're probably sharing with people in your DMs and you're sharing stories as well, too, and put your opinion about it on it. All that shows personality and it shows you being a good steward of the Instagram community and it makes a difference, for Instagram will show more people your things, but also it shows your personality to other people.

Speaker 2:

And it's an easy way to post content on a day that you don't really feel like posting content.

Speaker 1:

Right, also true.

Speaker 1:

There you go. So then let's talk about what it comes to. What are you posting business-wise, right? I always love reinforcing. I actually didn't. We had a newer social teams client.

Speaker 1:

She was like wait a moment. She's like I'm seeing she was confused about why the content Was in some regards similar and I'm like that is part of the plan. Like, if you post a carousel or a post and if you're in social time club, you know, you know this as well as ready as well too, it's important for people to see that content more than once. So you're going to see a carousel re Refigured to be a story as well, too, because you want to. Not only are some people just seeing your stories, but some people are just seeing your posts, but also, in addition to that, people who see both. It reinforces that point, that education that you're giving them. So definitely lean into that. If you wrote repurpose your content that you've put on your, on your feed and use it now, I think there's two ways to do that. You could share it. I get that. You can share a piece, but if you, I think it's better to recreate it and resize it. You know and have I think there's it.

Speaker 2:

Sometimes I even recommend like both. So if you put the post on your feed on this week you can share the post to your stories and then next week share it as a story. Yeah, you know, oh, you know. All of the above like that is okay.

Speaker 1:

It is and it's good, because if you made if you took the time to make it a post like a carousel, that's a point. Maybe it's like the benefits of Using sunscreen and you want to get that point across because that point's gonna help you selling your, your product, that's sunscreen. That's something worth Imagining and making sure that you read, you reiterate it through your stories.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and honestly, here's a fourth way. Take that carousel and then go do a face to camera Story about it as well. Mm-hmm, same topic, same content. Use it again and again. You're you're not gonna do all of these things in one day. Spread it out and then, boom you one piece of content. Just got you four different ways of posting it.

Speaker 1:

Hallelujah, love that, um, and then I get the last thing. Well, the last type of content I would say to add in there is your sales, your product. If you want to sell it Like, and you can do that in different ways. It can be like listen, I, if you're a new skin, you might be like I'm doing a bulk order on toothpaste. Get in on it. Who wants it? Dm me or or comment or or tap on the yes, the yes no for like, a Like, a poll. It can be oh my gosh, we have this new product.

Speaker 1:

Hear the deeds about this new product, because you may not really know right now If that new product is going to be the one about. You want to be sitting on. But you can put information about that in your story also. Like a great example, labor day was yesterday, um, as we're recording this, so you might have like a labor day sale. A lot of the companies are doing 15% off, 20% off site wide Revenue sitting there trying to make a post to get that out. Put it in your stories, talk about it in your stories, let people know and have a link. You can use the link feature in your stories to go directly to where you, they need to shop.

Speaker 2:

So the point of putting it in your story is you guys is it's there for 24 hours and then it's gone, unless you put it in a highlight. But if it's on your feed, it's there forever and the sales going to end. So put it in your stories where it's going to be there for when, the time that it's relevant, and then it's gone.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and also remember if you put that on your. If you do put on your feed post and I'm looking and I realize I missed a sale, I may not buy. Am I just waiting for you to have another sale? So just remember if you're playing.

Speaker 2:

I am guilty of that. I've seen that and I'm like, oh, I missed their 20% off. Now I know they do 20% off. I'm going to wait ding, ding ding.

Speaker 1:

So remember that, as you're, you're maneuvering it. Um, there is Buzz going around in the world that you should be posting on your instagram feed five to six times a day. I don't have my funny noises with me, I'm not going to tell you who here, but you know who you know in your heart of hearts. You know, I do know no.

Speaker 2:

I know, you know I snow. No, no, don't do that to yourself.

Speaker 1:

Don't do that. It doesn't help you. I sat down with someone who'd been doing that and she was like well, I'm so, I'm so told me to do it. And I was like, okay, let's look at your metrics. I mean, because at some point I am not going to fight with Someone y'all beside is a guru who told you this nonsense like let's just look at your metric and see if it's working for you. Specifically, your metrics say it's not working, as you can see. So none of your posts, and here's why it probably is not working for you all.

Speaker 1:

That's a way instagram works. You want to do that, put it in your stories. You want to post five, six times a day, do it in your story, but when you do it on your post, here's what happened. Nothing you post has time to mature and be sent around to all the people that it could be sent around to, because you constantly are posting Five to six times adios, yes, what come? Anyhow, calm down.

Speaker 1:

All I am saying is if you, if you have been told that and you've been doing that which is exhausting, by the way, that's exhausting. That's a lot of content. You were just turning and burning for no reason and you're wasting your time. Look and see if it's actually truly helping you. Look at your metrics and if it's not, give me some of that energy you have over to everything else, like in producing activity, like reaching out to people, and she needs some of that over the stories, and stop spending time doing all Like. If you want to be spending time doing that, then maybe you need to go to tick tock and do you know it's still four or five. I won't get over this. Four or five reels or, sorry, tick tock. You need to post four or five times a day to make it matter.

Speaker 2:

If I have heard, that and that's why, like instagram, that's very old. That's a very old strategy To post that much on your feed. So I didn't I don't even think it is a strategy debate that it used to be like.

Speaker 1:

You used to get pretty decent reach, like years ago, guys not posting like that was like three stories, yeah, maybe two times a day, three, but four to five. I don't know, that just seems insane.

Speaker 2:

I don't even time.

Speaker 1:

That's like a full-time job, it is and then you want to wake hand if you know stun, nothing else is working. Well, that's why have fun with your stories is the moral of the story.

Speaker 2:

About a bang, about a boom not even have fun. Show your face, be yourself, sell, do it, you've got it.

Speaker 1:

Oh, one more important thing if you're going to put a poll of A question, a quiz on your stories, come back before 24 hours and check that out and respond to people. For the love of yes, okay and paula mayer, yes, make sure you go within 24 hours and use that to your benefit and engage with people, otherwise you don't know who voted what.

Speaker 2:

And you can reshare, like the answers. People usually want to know the results.

Speaker 1:

They love that 100%, terbara, turn up my heart. What's going on with you behind the scenes, so behind the scenes for me.

Speaker 2:

Since you guys all know I'm moving, I can tell you. What I actually did this weekend is I got the whole basement cleaned, unpacked and organized so I have like a little pile for our keep. And then I have a huge donate pile and I've been having people come through this weekend looking at our stuff and I'm like, just take it. You don't want to sell this. You should sell this on Facebook Marketplace. I'm like that is too much work, I do not have time for that. Take it, like, if you want to take it. So we've gotten rid of a big chunk of things so far. Nice, yeah, I'm impressed.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I would go ahead.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry.

Speaker 2:

I'll say today is the big. I'm going to tackle toys. After this I have a little bit more work to do and then I was going to do toys and I might be under for a few days.

Speaker 1:

So with toys, do the kids get a say in the toys that get to come with them?

Speaker 2:

I attempted that this weekend with Davey. Like his stuffed animals. I kind of pulled out like a big pile. I'm like, ok, I need you to go through these and tell me which ones you feel ready to get rid of. He gave me one One. I'm like, ok, I'm going to have to do this when you're not looking Because I am not bringing four totes of stuffed animals. He loves stuffed animals right now, like that's what he's obsessed with them.

Speaker 1:

Can I just say, as an advocate for Davey, since he's not here right now, that kids, as they grow up, remember that thing that mom took from them and threw away. I remember my pillow. That. I always had in my pillow. And one day I'm up and the pillow was raggedy Right. I mean I slept on it I don't even know if I slept on it and it just disappeared. I'm just saying it's traumatic for kids when parents decide that they're done with the thing they don't want to be done with.

Speaker 2:

I know, but at what point?

Speaker 1:

do you draw the?

Speaker 2:

like this kid has a lot of stuff and it is our fault. We have turned him into quite the consumer. He loves shopping, he has a lot of stuff.

Speaker 1:

In my non-mother expertise. This is what I would say In my 40s. In my years of non-mother expertise, I would say, henceforth, do the hey. When you get something, you have to give something away.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's a good idea Like OK, your new Amazon came up. What are we going to donate today?

Speaker 1:

I could do that, yeah, and then I mean, I guess you take us. You can just be like the toys stayed with. Those were muskegon toys and you're in Tennessee. I don't know what you're going to do about that. Your other option might be to you guys aren't putting things in storage, right? Yeah, I don't know what you're going to do. It's going to be traumatic, but I guess every kid needs the story of their mom throwing away something they love, so maybe this is the one story.

Speaker 2:

I mean I was talking to him because we did the basement and there was a lot of like toys we haven't seen in six months anyways, and they came down and they were playing with it and I'm like this is the last time we're going to play with these toys. We're going to donate these to other kids who need new toys and they were able to kind of process that. Davey was sad but and some of them are going to our friends. So I'm like you're going to see the slide when we go to Gabby's house and they were cool with that, but the stuffed animals might be harder. So we'll see. I'll keep you guys updated next week, Good luck.

Speaker 1:

My kids in therapy. They're thinking of stuffed animals. I know, right, Interchild work coming up for you, so you know stuffed animals. There's a big pink stuffed animal behind me.

Speaker 2:

He's staring right at me. Go that way. There you go. How tall is he? You think he's four feet.

Speaker 1:

He's four feet. He's definitely four feet. I'm at my sister-in-law's house. We are in the Boston area, a suburb of spending time within us, so that is what we're doing, and so I have a stuffed animal here. But it's fun being at least closer. I'm like what I didn't have to. This is so late. We pod at 11. What. This is crazy.

Speaker 2:

Pam, it is late. Did a surprise go well for the parents?

Speaker 1:

It went so well. So there was a Labor Day weekend party with great-grand, all the generations and we got there and when Scott's parents walked in, his dad looked at us and he was like come on, wait, you're not supposed to be here. He was one of those like he was just shocked. He had a shocked look and then he was like so excited. So we've been spending time with them, which is great, and we'll see them again. And we're going to Jack's school. He goes to school in New Hampshire, so we're driving up there this evening and whatnot.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, doing all our things. Rox, I didn't see any Labor Day weekend fits on social media, speaking of stories.

Speaker 1:

That's interesting, I look adorable. So just so you know.

Speaker 2:

Maybe a little recap on the ground.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, you're right. You're right, I did wear, because I can still wear white. So I did wear my pickleball outfit that never made it to pickleball at the wedding. I wore that on the day, which is good, because it's teeny. I have this cute like 1Z green number that I wore yesterday. I'll see what I can do. I'll bring this amount. I'll get better. There's some pictures, but I don't want their full body pictures. I'll work on that. Ok, it's your homework. And yes, and Baylor flew with us and cheated so well, so I just want to say and she had to sit like right with you.

Speaker 2:

Is that a new rule?

Speaker 1:

Yes, Without saying too much. So they got rid of the ability because people were bringing like reptiles and snakes and all these things. So they cracked down. So you have to like do some, you go through some other steps, yeah yeah. So that's all I'm going to say, but if you want more information about it, you can message me. I can give you more details.

Speaker 2:

I might need the details because we're going to be flying more and I'm like I think Denard's too big. He's like 35 pounds, so I don't know, because I saw when I was booking the flights that gave me an option for an in-cab and pet and I was like oh, this is an option, and. But then I was like I'm going to leave him here for a little bit and then I'll come back and get him.

Speaker 1:

I'll give you the details. I got you OK, I got you All right. Everyone Off to stories, we go. Go do your stories, do your stories, we'll talk to you later.
